Granville Loops

Project Timeline

Granville Loops Draft Policy Plan

Staff and consultants are working on a Granville Loops Policy Plan. The Plan includes road geometrics, massing and urban design studies and, economic evaluation. Staff will be taking the draft Plan to Council in late 2008/early 2009.

Granville Loops Rezonings

Yale Hotel   Cecil Hotel

Currently, there are two sites within the Granville Loops area that are involved in the re-development process. There are two rezoning public hearings scheduled for fall 2008:

Granville Loops Redevelopment Timing

The above two privately owned rezoning sites are expected to undergo redevelopment over the next two to three years. The Granville Loops area will be developed in phases and the timing of this will be dependent on existing tenants and leases. The City owned lands are expected to redevelop over a much longer time frame and are therefore not expected to begin redevelopment for the next few years.

Granville Street Redesign

Granville Street from Drake to Cordova is being redesigned and will be completed in 2009. The Granville Street Loops project will be as compatible as possible with the Granville Street redesign. The redesign includes plans for sidewalks, street trees, street furniture, lighting, and other street elements.
