Kingsway and Knight Neighbourhood Centre Program

The Kingsway and Knight area was identified as a Neighbourhood Centre in the Kensington Cedar Cottage Community Vision in 1998. The Neighbourhood Centre Program is designed to deliver improvements to the shopping area and to plan small scale housing around it.

Neighbourhood Centre Study Area

Over a two-year period, people in KCC worked with City staff to create the Kingsway and Knight Housing Area Plan (1.71mb) and the Public Realm Improvements Plan (1.68mb). These plans were adopted by City Council in July 2004. Construction of the public realm improvements is underway with completion slated for Spring 2006. The rezoning of the Kingsway and Knight Housing Area to the new RT-10/RT-10N and RM-1/RM-N zones was approved in October 2005.
