Neighbourhood Centres

Norquay Village Neighbourhood Centre Program

Ongoing Community Involvement and Working Groups

Ongoing Community Involvement

  • The two initial working groups made up of business owners and residents expanded to include new members and amalgamated to focus on options for the Kingsway Planning Area and to refine housing options within the larger area.
  • Newsletters are periodically mailed to every household, property owner and business informing neighbours of program updates.
  • Public open houses and workshops provide opportunities for updates and community feedback and participation.
  • A Survey on options for housing and shopping area improvements was undertaken.
  • Meetings with community groups gather important information for consideration.

Working Groups

Many residents and business owners expressed interest in participating in the Working Groups that were initially formed to develop the Public Realm/Streetscape and the Housing Area Components of the Neighbourhood Plan. These two working groups have been meeting regularly to help City staff develop options for improvements and changes in Norquay Village. The original Working Groups were amalgamated in January 2009 to focus on options for the Kingsway Planning Area and to refine housing options within the larger area.
