    • Proposed: A rezoning application has been submitted to the City for consideration.
    • Approved: A rezoning application has been approved in principle by Council at a Public Hearing.
    • Enacted: A rezoning application has received final approval by Council and the related zoning by-laws have come into force.

Public Hearings

Public Hearings are special meetings of City Council that are held to consider rezoning matters and heritage designations. City Council must hold a Public Hearing before Council can change a zoning by-law. Learn more

All meetings of Council are webcast. The minutes to the Public Hearing meetings are available on the Council Meeting web page approximately two days following the conclusion of the meeting.

The next Public Hearing is scheduled for Monday, June 11, 2012 at 6 pm.

 

Green Rezoning Policy

Vancouver raises the bar with "green" building requirements for all rezoning applications PDF (93kb) received as of January 1, 2011. Construction will have to meet LEED Gold (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) green building standards.
