Community Gardens

Vancouver is home to dozens of community gardens spread throughout the city. There are approximately 1600 community garden plots, as well as 900 community-shared plots that have been integrated in various development projects around the city. With 2,500 plots currently in place, Vancouver has roughly 4.3 plots per 1000 people.

This page is a starting point for information on the City’s approach to community gardens. It contains links to some of our key garden project, such as the 2010 Garden Challenge and the new City Hall community garden.
