Leeside Tunnel skateboard park

Leeside Tunnel skateboard park in Vancouver

Location

Leeside Tunnel is under the Cassiar St. Connector at the intersection of East Hastings St and Highway 1.

Features

The skate park is named in memory of Lee Matasi, an aspiring artist and skateboarder who was tragically shot and killed in Gastown in 2005.

The 7m high, 49m long, abandoned tunnel in East Vancouver has evolved into an informal place for free-form skateboarding, BMX cycling and occasional events. The tunnel has around 12 hand-built obstacles such as mini-ramps, grind poles, and quarter pipes.
