REVISED Rezoning Application - 777 Pacific Boulevard (BC Place)

PAVCO has applied to the City of Vancouver to rezone 777 Pacific Boulevard from BCPED (BC Place/Expo District) to CD-1 (Comprehensive Development) District. The purpose of the rezoning is to allow a mixed-use entertainment complex including two hotels, a casino, restaurants, theatre, and a cabaret. The project design features two hotel towers above a 4-storey podium that includes the casino and other commercial uses. The north tower (adjacent to Expo Boulevard) is approximately 67 m in height and the south tower (adjacent to Pacific Boulevard) is approximately 92 m (south) in height. Both towers respect the view corridor height limits.
The Edgewater Casino will relocate and expand from its current location at Plaza of Nations. The current Edgewater Casino operation includes 65 games tables and 493 slots. The new casino would include up to 150 games tables and up to 1500 slots.
This application has been approved by Council at a Regular Council Meeting on April 19, 2011.
This application was heard at a series of Public Hearings between February and April, 2011; Council began hearing speakers regarding Item 6 on March 7, 2011. The application was approved (with amendments) by Council. Most notably, the number of games tables and slots was not permitted to be expanded.
By-law No. 10404 has been enacted by Council at a Regular Council Meeting on November 29, 2011.
