Volunteer with the Neighbourhood Emergency Preparedness Program

Neighbourhood Emergency Preparedness volunteers with Mayor Gregor Robertson

Are you interested in teaching your community about emergency safety?

The Neighbourhood Emergency Preparedness Program (NEPP) depends on volunteers to deliver workshops and help neighbours prepare for emergencies and disasters in the city.

The City holds regular emergency safety workshops for residents year-round.

NEPP volunteers hold workshops about preparing for earthquakes and other hazards, including how to:

  • Prepare for emergencies with your family, children, and pets
  • Minimize hazards in your home
  • Prepare for emergencies in an apartment

Is this volunteer opportunity for you?

While experience teaching or facilitating seminars is helpful, it is not required. Complete training will be provided.

How to get involved

You must be a Vancouver Volunteer Corps member VVC Orientation and Level 100 Training.

What's happening

Thank you to everyone that came out to our recent orientation sessions.

We don't have any orientations scheduled at this time and aren't actively recruiting for the program.

Check back later this year for more opportunities!
