Karen Levitt
Deputy city manager
Karen Levitt assumed the role of deputy city manager in January 2020. Her portfolio includes the City’s Business Planning and Project Support internal business advisory team, the Vancouver Economic Commission, and the City’s Rethink|Rebuild Program – driving improvements to customer service, efficiencies, and effectiveness throughout the organization.
Karen started at the City in 1990, and brings over thirty years of business advisory and municipal experience to her current role. She has held various positions at the City over the past thirty years, including Director, Business Planning and Project Support, Director of Olympic Games Strategic Planning, Deputy City Treasurer, and Manager of Financial Planning. Karen holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of British Columbia, and an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.
Alongside her professional commitments, Karen dedicates significant time to mentoring young adults and sitting on community boards of directors.
