Urban agriculture capital improvements

This funding is provided in support of the goals of:

We're offering a one-time funding opportunity for urban agriculture capital improvements to be completed in the 2025 growing season.

Eligible applicants include non-profit or Indigenous-led food growing initiatives, community gardens, and urban farms.

Selected projects will receive pre-approval from the City and Park Board, and payment to the organizers will be provided when the project is complete.

Eligibility

Eligible project expenses

You can use the funding for capital costs that support food and medicine growing programs. It does not cover operating costs like salaries.

Proposed improvements and the activities they support must be consistent with applicable regulations and by-laws (for example, Vancouver Building By-law).

Projects located on City land must also meet the Community Garden Guidelines (186 KB). Projects located on Park land must meet the Urban Agriculture Policy for Parks (130 KB).

We’ll follow up with any questions and notify you by email by early July 2025.

Next, work with volunteers or contractors to complete your project.

Submit your final application

Submit your project completion form by November 1, 2025, to be reimbursed up to $4000 for your project.
