Who governs stratas
Stratas are governed first by the provincial Strata Property Act.
Each strata can then make their own rules within that framework. These stricter strata by-laws overrule City by-laws.
If you live in a strata, the rules are slightly different when it comes to property use concerns.
For many property use concerns, you need to:
- Contact your strata council or strata manager
- Learn how strata council or strata managers enforce your strata by-laws
Relevant provincial regulations
The Province's strata housing website has information about operating and living in stratas and links to the Strata Property Act and regulations.
