Important information If you live on the Musqueam Indian Reserve or the University Endowment Lands, buy your dog licence in person or by phone.
Buy a new licence
- $61 (no tax) per dog, per year
- Pay with Visa, Mastercard, or American Express
Renew a licence
- $61 (no tax) per dog, per year
- Pay with Visa, Mastercard, or American Express
- Renew before your licence expires to avoid a $10 late penalty
Update or cancel a licence
- Update your address or contact information, add a family member, or add information about your dog
- Cancel if you have moved out of Vancouver, gave your dog to another family, or your dog has passed away
- Request a refund by:
- Returning the dog tag by mail or in person
- Providing a certificate from the veterinarian by mail, email, fax, or in person, if the dog was euthanized

Replace a lost tag
- $6 (tax included)
- Replace any time or wait until you renew your licence
Transfer a licence
- Provide proof of your valid licence from the other municipality
- Expiry date will be the same as the pre-existing licence
- $6 (tax included)
