Get a Metro West Inter-Municipal Business Licence (IMBL)

To be eligible for a Metro West IMBL, you will need:

• A business licence from a fixed Vancouver location
• To be:
  • In the construction or trades industry providing services such as maintenance, repair, or inspections of land and buildings; OR
  • A health care professional or health care service provider who provides services by visiting clients in their homes

Note The IMBL doesn't allow a licence holder to offer mobile services to various commercial clinics in Vancouver. If you provide health care services at more than one commercial location in Vancouver, you need a separate business licence for each commercial premise. 

Note If your business:

• Operates from a fixed location in Vancouver, email or mail your application, or apply in person
• Location is in any of the other participating municipalities, apply for the IMBL from your home municipality

The fee for a Metro West IMBL is $300 and is not pro-rated. This is in addition to your home municipality's business licence fee. 

The IMBL is valid for the same term as the regular business licence issued from your home municipality. The City business licence expires annually on December 31.
