Cigarette butt on a beach

Cigarette Litter Challenge

Cigarette butts are the most common litter found on our streets, beaches, and parks. Approximately 450,000 cigarette butts are littered in Vancouver every day.

During rain events, cigarette butts get washed into storm drains and make their way to the ocean, negatively impacting the environment and marine life.

Join us for Ocean Week Canada  from June 1 to 8, 2024, and take part in the Cigarette Litter Challenge. By collecting as many cigarette butts as possible, we help raise awareness of litter and microplastics in our ocean.
