Reinstate your suspended alarm permit

Apply to have your alarm reinstated if your alarm has been suspended because of too many false alarms. A bill will be mailed to you with the amount owed and payment instructions.

Steps to completing an alarm permit reinstatement request

  1. Review the reinstatement of your alarm permit fees
  2. Print out the Alarm System Inspection Report - By-Law No. 7111 (64 KB)
  3. Have your alarm technician fill out the Alarm System Inspection Report during their evaluation of your system
  4. Fill out the reinstatement of alarm form to pay your reinstatement fees
  5. Scan a copy of your completed Alarm System Inspection Report
  6. Send the scanned copy of the completed Alarm System Inspection Report with your payment confirmation details by either:

Alarm permit reinstatement fees

Cheques should be made payable to City of Vancouver.

Permit type Reinstatement fee
Residential $75
Small business or commercial [less than 140 m² (1,507 ft²) of floor area protected by a security alarm system] $125
Large business or commercial [140 m² (1,507 ft²) or greater of floor area protected by a security alarm system] $250

If you have been suspended more than once, the reinstatement fee will be doubled.
