Get and manage alarm permits for security systems

Protect your home with a security alarm and a valid security alarm permit

If you have a security alarm system for your home or business, you must have an alarm permit and renew it annually.

Security alarm permits are non-transferable and are attached to the location and permit holder. A permit cannot be transferred to a new address or business owner.

With an invalid permit:

  • Vancouver Police may not attend your property if your alarm is triggered
  • Your alarm company will not provide any service to your property

Car alarms do not require a permit.
