With more than 2 decades of service with Vancouver Fire Rescue Services (VFRS), Rob is a respected and accomplished leader known for his strategic thinking, sound judgement, and integrity. Having served in frontline, officer, and executive leadership roles, he brings a deep understanding of the organization, its people, and the evolving needs of the communities it serves.
As Deputy Chief, Rob demonstrated his ability to navigate complex challenges, build strong relationships and advance organizational priorities across key portfolios, including training, recruitment, labour relations, occupational health and safety, capital planning, and technology. Drawing on extensive leadership experience on both the labour and management sides of the organization, he is known for bringing people together to solve difficult issues and build trust. His collaborative approach to leadership, combined with his commitment to accountability and doing what is right, has earned him the trust and respect of colleagues throughout VFRS.
