Guidelines

Eligibility

To qualify, your program must:

• Be registered as a non-profit society or community service co-op based in Vancouver that provides social services to residents, or partnered with one of the above
• Be in good standing with the BC Registrar
• Be financially stable
• Have a record of successful program delivery with proven outcomes

Organizations are encouraged to reach out to a planner if you need further guidance on your application, especially if you are a new applicant.

In alignment with our ongoing work in reconciliation, equity, and accessibility, we are available to support you in the application process.

After you apply

A panel of staff will review applications after the close date, based on criteria further outlined in the guidelines.

Final recommendations will be included in a Council report. Organizations will be notified on funding recommendations prior to the Council meeting. 

Maximum grant amount per application: $40,000 per year 
Total maximum grant amount per 3-year application: $120,000 per 3 years

HLF programs must:

• Take place in the Hastings-Sunrise neighbourhood boundary
• Continuously benefit residents or businesses located in Hastings-Sunrise area
• Have a good history and resources to successfully run the program
• Show reasonable expenses that will be comparable
• Advance our priorities and strategies

The total available funding pool is subject to change each year, but ranges from approximately $100,000 to $142,000. The number of total funded programs will vary depending on the amount of available funding.
