False Creek Flats - Public Involvement

The False Creek Flats project is an inclusive planning process involving all stakeholders, community groups, and residents. We would like your input to help develop the long range vision. Please read about the some of the issues related to the Flats on this website, and email us with your name, mailing address, phone number, if you would like to be added to our mailing list. This website will be updated to keep you informed about the planning process, next steps, and upcoming False Creek Flats public events.

Public Involvement - Phase 1

In Phase 1, Staff met with the various stakeholders (surrounding area residents, interest groups, community associations, business interests, land owners, etc.) to develop a consensus on scope and process for the long range vision of the Flats.

As a first step, focus group meetings were set-up to explore short and long term goals, objectives and issues, and how they fit within the land use and transportation planning process. Phase 1 identified what needs to be addressed in the Phase 2 visioning process, in particular, which current and potential proposals could move ahead simultaneously with the Phase 2 vision planning by the development of a Terms of Reference.
