Last-minute changes to swim schedules and operational changes
As we continue to build seasonal schedules with limited staff availability, aquatic operations may be modified.

Visitors may notice last-minute changes to swim session schedules, which may include:
- Closing of a pool section(s)
- Length of sessions
- Cancellation of sessions
- Cancellation of lessons (Parents will be notified beforehand and given additional information)
Have a specific question about a drop-in swim session? Contact the facility directly on the day of the scheduled session.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work towards resolving the issue. When making decisions affecting services at our facilities, we prioritize the safety and equity of all patrons and staff.

Hillcrest and Killarney are two of our most popular indoor swimming pools. Entry wait times may be longer during peak hours and on weekends.

For quicker admission, consider visiting a nearby pool.

The Killarney Leisure Pool - located near Rupert and 49th East streets - is an indoor pool with UV-treated water and views of the North Shore mountains. It has a beach-style entry, lap pools, and wheelchair access.

We offer swimming lessons and fitness activities, as well as rental space for swim clubs, schools, and events.

Register online for Aquafit sessions

Online registration for most swim sessions are no longer required. Advanced online registration for Aquafit sessions are still available and highly recommended to secure a spot. A limited number of Aquafit drop-in spots are available in person, on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Registration opens three days in advance, and closes 30 minutes before the session starts. If you are unable to attend a session for which you have registered, you must cancel in advance by accessing your vanrec.ca account.

Flexipasses and 10-visit passes are accepted for online registration.

Aquafit

Swimming lessons are offered for pre-school, children and youth age groups. Infant, toddler, and adult lessons are not available at this time.

Lockers

Bring your own lock to secure your personal items in the lockers. Buy a padlock at the front desk for $13. The pool doesn't have coin-operated lockers.

Public swim is held in leisure tank with no lanes. Length swim is held in lap tank with 3 doublewide lanes.

Requirements for children at the pool

Children seven years old and under must be with a responsible guardian (16+ years old) while in the water. The guardian must wear a bathing suit and be within arms' reach of the children.

One guardian can supervise up to three children.
