This 14,500 square-foot facility includes:

  • Office areas
  • Meeting rooms
  • Multipurpose programming spaces

The space does not include moveable furniture, audio-visual (AV), or specialized equipment.

Building features

The facility is part of a larger mixed-use development with a 14-storey market rental tower and a 27-storey market strata tower. 

The overall building includes:

  • 80 market rental units and 133 market strata units
  • Commercial retail space at ground level
  • Office space (including the non-profit space)
  • Underground parking and bicycle spaces

Set to open in spring 2026, the new social and cultural facility at 485 West 42nd  Avenue (formerly 5740 Cambie Street) is designed to be an affordable, shared multi-purpose hub for Vancouver-based, non-profit social and ethno-cultural organizations.

When completed, the space will be fully complete and finished, including the interior, ready for immediate use.

Centrally located community hub

This mixed-use building will be near other social amenities planned for this area including Oakridge Civic Centre, seniors centre, youth centre, library, and a park. It is also close to the Canada Line rapid transit station at Cambie and 41st Avenue.
