Our sidewalks and streets have public washrooms, benches, bike racks, banners, flags, clocks, map stands, newspaper boxes, and waste bins. These fixtures and amenities provide seating, waste management, and storage to help keep Vancouver tidy, convenient, and vibrant.
We've installed automated public toilets in the downtown area. They are automatically cleaned and sanitized after each use.
Automated public toilets are free to use. Check the map for locations and hours of operation.
There are two underground public washrooms (comfort stations) are located at:
Main St and Hastings St
Victory Square, 200 W Hastings St at Cambie St
There is an attendant at the locations keeping them stocked and cleaned. Additional maintenance and cleaning requests can be reported to the site attendant or by calling 604-312-4212 or emailing sharonlee.white@yahoo.com.
Local business associations, non-profit groups, charitable organizations, and special events organizations can install banners and flags on City streets.
Easily find your way around town using over 200 map stands placed throughout Vancouver.
Our wayfinding map stands help you locate nearby attractions, amenities, drinking fountains, public toilets, public transit connections, and accessibility aids.
We install waste bins and zero waste stations that coordinate with diverse streetscapes, suit the needs of neighbourhoods, and promote waste diversion.
Our program is designed to:
Place waste bins at high-traffic transit stops, retail and entertainment areas, and parks
We issue contracts to suppliers who provide environmentally-friendly street fixtures, or share the cost of installing and maintaining them.
For example: OUTFRONT Media / JCDecaux supplies and maintains street furniture in Vancouver in exchange for the rights to the transit shelter advertising program.
