Revised taxes, also called supplementary roll adjustments, are issued when you successfully appeal your property assessment to BC Assessment.
Your appeal
Successful appeals are rare. If you are successful, you will usually get a credit and refund of any property taxes you overpaid due to your property being overvalued by BC Assessment.
Occasionally, appeals highlight assessment errors that were made in your favour, and you may end up owing more taxes than you have already paid. If this is your situation, you will have 30 days to pay your outstanding taxes without getting a penalty. If you pay your revised taxes late, you will be charged a 5% penalty.
