Apply for a zoning district change

Rezoning to an existing zoning district, or a "zoning district change," requires fewer submission requirements and is less complex than rezoning to a CD-1, which is a zone customized for a specific site.
With a zoning district change, a proposal's form of development (design) is not reviewed during the rezoning stage. The proposal is expected to comply with existing zoning regulations and associated guidelines, which will be fully reviewed at the development permit stage to follow. This approach results in fewer rezoning legal conditions, which speeds up processing times. It also provides certainty on the built form and design for residents and applicants.
