  Service	Description	Cost
  Rental staffing	Rental staff supervision is determined by the rental coordinator based on the activity type and time of the requested rental. Rentals held outside of operating hours require mandatory staff supervision. Per the BC Labour Code, a 4-hour minimum shift is required.	Varies
  Damage deposit	Damage deposits vary based on requested activity and equipment. Deposit is required at the time of contract signing and payment in order to secure and confirm the rental.	$100 to $200
  Music tariff (ReSound and SOCAN)	The federal government requires us to collect SOCAN and ReSound fees if prerecorded music is played.	Starting at $31.30
  Insurance and documentation	Additional documentation or certification (for example certificate of insurance or special event permit) is the responsibility of the renter.   Damage deposit

  The damage deposit is a refundable deposit required for most rental contracts. The deposit will be used to cover the cost of any damages and any additional fees incurred. It is required in order to confirm the reservation.

  Payments can be made via Mastercard, Visa, American Express, debit card, or cash.

  Information icon Deposits will be refunded less any outstanding charges within 30 days of the end of the rental.

  Cancellations

  Cancellation requests must be received in writing and require a minimum of 48 hours notice to receive a refund of fees paid.

  Cancellation requests received prior to 24 hours before your event will receive a refund, less a $25.00 administration fee.

  Information icon Refunds of rental fees will not be issued for event cancellations received less than 24 hours prior to the event.

  Non-profit organization discount

  Events that are booked by a registered provincial or federal non-profit society are eligible for a 25% discount on the posted rental rates.

  Discount will be applied once non-profit has been verified by the rental coordinator.

• 

  Set up and take down

  Information icon Confetti of any type (including rice, flower petals, paper products, and glitter) is not permitted.

  All groups are responsible for their own set up, take down, and basic cleanup of the rented space including set up and clean up of community centre tables and chairs.

  Information icon Our staff do not handle any rental supplies and equipment or other items brought in by the group.

  Liability insurance

  Depending on the risk level assessed for your event, a minimum of $2 million liability with the City of Vancouver and the Vancouver Park Board named as additional insurers may be required.

  Higher risk events include receptions, adult parties, and tradeshows. In most cases, we do not require insurance for group meetings or workshops where no high risk activities are involved.

  All sports activities in our gymnasiums are required to have liability insurance. You may wish to use your own broker and ask them to complete our insurance form PDF file (172 KB), or you can use one of the companies listed below that regularly issue insurance for events at our facility:

  Food and beverage

  You may bring in your own food or use any catering vendor to provide food and beverage services at your event.
