Drop-ins available for public skating sessions

July 9, 2021: Effective July 12, we are allowing 10 drop-ins for each public skating session. Advance online registration is highly recommended to secure a spot.

Kerrisdale Cyclone Taylor Arena is located near West Boulevard and 41st Ave. West, two blocks from the Kerrisdale Community Centre.

From April to August, we remove the ice to create the Kerrisdale Play Palace, an indoor playground.

Register online for skating lessons and sessions

We’re currently offering skating lessons only at Hillcrest and Sunset ice rinks.

Registration for public skating sessions opens three days in advance, and closes 30 minutes before the session starts.

Skating sessions are 45 minutes or one-hour long. Skaters 7 years and younger must be accompanied on the ice by a parent or guardian over the age of 16 years.

Skate and helmet rentals are available for public skating sessions only.

Kerrisdale Play Palace

This giant, indoor playground runs from late April to late August and is great for families with children under 12.

  • Wheelchairs are welcome during public skating sessions. Participants must wear helmets. The person pushing the wheelchair must wear skates.

Passes accepted:

  • Leisure Access Program (LAP)
  • Flexipass

Helmet policy for skating activities

Anyone participating in skating classes, lessons, and programs must wear a CSA-certified hockey or snowboard helmet. You are also encouraged to wear a helmet at public skate times. Rinks have a limited number of helmets free-of-charge to registered program participants. Cycling helmets are not permitted.
