This community-guided project will provide a plan for the future of the community centre
The Vancouver Park Board has developed a schematic master plan for Oak Park with a proposed location for the new Marpole Community Centre and full-sized outdoor pool, after multi-layered public consultation.
The Park Board and City of Vancouver are now working on detailed planning and design of the community centre and outdoor pool in collaboration with our partners at the Marpole Community Centre Association. More consultation related to detailed design of the facilities will be upcoming this year.
Needs assessment and Oak Park schematic master planning
A summary of Phase 1 and 2 of engagement and the resulting location of the community centre and outdoor pool within Oak Park was presented to the Park Board Commissioners on November 4, 2019.
An open house was held in July 2019 to gather input during Phase 2 of engagement on the location of the community centre and outdoor pool within Oak Park.
An overview and the results of Phase 1 community engagement on the needs assessment for the community centre renewal was presented to the Park Board Commissioners on March 12, 2018.
Community engagement and involvement is a critical part of each project phase.
