Sonny Assu, Verdun, QC
Sonny Assu grew up in North Delta, BC, away from his ancestral home in Cape Mudge and Kwakwaka'wakw culture.
He graduated from Emily Carr University in 2002.
In an exploration of his mixed ancestry, he works across disciplines and appropriates and transforms items of consumer and popular culture and First Nations iconography.
Jeremy Borsos, Mayne Island, BC
Jeremy Borsos lives and works on Mayne Island, British Columbia and in Berlin, Germany.
He enrolled at the Emily Carr School of Art in 1983 before moving to New York, where he lived and attended the Arts Students League.
He has had numerous regional, national and international exhibitions of his artworks. These works investigate various media as artefact and the ways they are used to interpret the past.
Bracken Hanuse Corlett, Vancouver, BC
Bracken Hanuse Corlett is a multimedia artist hailing from the Wuikinuxv and Klahoose Nations.
He graduated from En’owkin Centre of Indigenous Art in 2008 and holds a BFA from Emily Carr University. He has also studied Northwest Coast art, carving and design from acclaimed Heitsuk artists Bradley Hunt and his sons Shawn Hunt and Dean Hunt.
He is a co-founder of the Vancouver Indigenous Media Arts Festival. Recent exhibition history includes the Grunt Gallery, Gallery Gachet, Unit Pit, and the Royal BC Museum.
Emilie Crewe, Vancouver, BC
Emile Crewe’s work often takes the form of video installation, sound, sculpture and single-channel video.
She holds a BFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University, and an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Recent exhibition history includes the AC Institute in New York, NY, the Governor's Island Art Fair in New York, NY, the Zhou B. Art Center in Chicago, IL, and the Khyber Institute of Contemporary Art in Halifax, NS.
Alexa Hatanaka, Toronto, ON
Alexa Hatanaka is a mural painter, weaver, printmaker, collaborator, and educator.
She holds a BA in Printmaking from OCAD University. She exhibits internationally and paints large-scale murals with latex and aerosol paint, most notably in several of Canada’s remote high arctic communities.
Alexa has roots in Toronto but strives to be nomadic, perpetually learning and evolving her artistic practice.
Gabrielle Hill, Vancouver, BC
Gabrielle Hill is a Métis artist from Vancouver, BC, who works in drawing, sculpture, and public installation.
Gabrielle holds a degree with honors in English from Simon Fraser University (SFU) and is currently finishing her BFA in Visual Arts, also at SFU.
Gabrielle’s work has been exhibited at Gallery Gachet, Grunt Gallery, and Red Gate in Vancouver. In recognition of her contributions to the SFU School of Contemporary Arts, Gabrielle received the Bice Caple award, as well as the Canon Canada Photography Award in 2013
Brian Liu, Vancouver, BC
Brian Liu was born and raised in Hong Kong until immigrating to Vancouver, BC in 1993.
He graduated from Emily Carr University in 2009. His work in both art and design shows strong influence from street art, Chinese cultural artwork, and modern graphic design.
Much of his paintings show strong elements of design structure and methodology, and his design work shows clear influence from his painting practices.
Peter Morin, Brandon, MB
Peter Morin is a Tahltan Nation artist, curator and writer. He holds a Bachelor of Visual Arts from Emily Carr University, and an MFA from the University of British Columbia Okanagan Campus in Kelowna, BC.
Morin’s practice-based research investigates the impact between indigenous culturally-based practices and western settler colonialism. This work, defined by Tahltan Nation epistemological production, often takes on the form of performance interventions.
He has curated exhibitions at the Museum of Anthropology, Western Front, The Burnaby Art Gallery, and Grunt Gallery, among others. Morin joined the Visual Arts Faculty at Brandon University in 2014.
Dionne Paul, Sechelt, BC
Dionne Paul grew up on the Sunshine Coast, and is a proud member of the Nuxalk Nation and Sechelt Nation.
She graduated from Emily Carr University in 2006, and is currently working on a MFA from Emily Carr University.
Recent exhibition history includes Urban Aboriginal Fair Trade Gallery, Bill Reid Gallery, and the Grand Palace in Paris.

Jeannette Sirois is a fine artist who uses traditional and digital technology.
She holds a BFA from Concordia University and a Masters of Education from the University of British Columbia.
Recent exhibition history includes the Surrey Art Gallery, AIRS Show at the Canadian Federation of Artists, and the Raebec Gallery (South Carolina).
Krista Belle Stewart, Vancouver, BC
Krista Belle Stewart is an interdisciplinary artist who grew up as a member of the Okanagan Nation’s Upper Nicola Band.
She holds a BFA from Emily Carr University and is currently working on an MFA from Bard College in New York.
Recent exhibition and performance history includes Music from the New Wilderness at The Western Front, Shelved at the Burnaby Art Gallery, and the Fiction / Non-fiction at the Esker Foundation (Calgary).
Tania Willard, Chase, BC
Tania Willard works within the shifting ideas of contemporary and traditional as it relates to cultural arts and production. She often works with bodies of knowledge and skills that are conceptually linked to her interest in intersections between Aboriginal and other cultures.
She holds a BFA with Honours from the University of Victoria.
Willard has worked as an artist in residence with Gallery Gachet, the Banff Centre’s visual arts residency, and was a curator in residence with Grunt Gallery. Willard is currently in a curatorial residency with Kamloops Art Gallery in her home territory of Secwepemculecw.
