What are Neighbourhood Houses
Neighbourhood Houses have been an important part of Vancouver’s social infrastructure form more than 70 years.
They are place-based, nonprofit organizations that integrates the functions of service delivery, community building, and community change through local neighbourhood hubs. The range of activities and services each Neighbourhood House offers is determined by conditions within each community and by the needs and interests of the people living in that community.
There are currently 11 Neighbourhood Houses in Vancouver. Arbutus Neighbourhood House will open in 2026, bringing the total to 12. Review the neighbourhood house list and program details PDF file (184 KB)
