The repairs at the Vanier Park boat launch floats are now complete and both east and west ramps and floats are open.
The floats were damaged during the 2021 and 2022 storm events.
The major repairs have restored the west float for launching and retrieving small craft boats and increased the float’s resiliency to tidal conditions.
The minor repairs to the east float will allow the public to launch and retrieve non-motorized human-powered vessels like kayaks and canoes.
Safety guidance
For those accessing Vanier Park by boat:
- Commercial vessels are not permitted at any time
- Maximum stay for recreational vessels is 30 minutes
- No vessels are permitted to moor after dusk or before dawn
When using the floating boat launch ramp:
- Children must be accompanied by an adult
