Our facility features 2 launches, each with a different purpose.
West launch - Trailer launching
The west ramp and float are intended for launching and retrieval of small boats via vehicle and trailer. The concrete ramp is designed to accommodate vehicle traffic.
East launch - Hand launching only
The east ramp and float are intended for launching and retrieval of non-motorized human-powered vessels like kayaks and canoes. The east float features a low freeboard section for this purpose. The east ramp is closed to vehicle traffic.
Safety guidance
For those accessing Vanier Park by boat:
- Commercial vessels are not permitted at any time
- Maximum stay for recreational vessels is 30 minutes
- No vessels are permitted to moor after dusk or before dawn
When using the floating boat launch ramp:
- Children must be accompanied by an adult
