The Gathering Place health centre offers free laundry and shower facilities and other basic hygiene services including access to clothing, and delousing.
Show ID or a membership card to access our laundry facilities and showers.
Laundry
Bring 1 medium size load per day (5 kg maximum)- A sleeping bag or blanket is considered 1 load
- Make sure laundry contains clothing only (all pockets are empty)
- If you have or suspect bedbugs, inform the staff in advance for further instructions
- Each patron is limited to 1 load per day
Showers
The health centre has 4 shower rooms and 1 accessible shower. Showers operate on a first come, first served basis. The health centre can supply shampoo and towels. Showers are limited to 1 shower per person per day.
Haircuts
We offer basic haircuts when a licensed hairdresser is available.
Foot-care
We offer foot-care services on a monthly basis. Contact us to inquire about availability.
Clothing
Donation days: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30am to 1pm.
A membership card or ID is required to access the donations, where 4 free items of clothing per week can be selected.
Sewing and mending: When a volunteer with sewing skills is available, the health centre offers basic clothing repairs.
Other health services
Treatments for lice are available by appointment on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 12pm.
