Opening details of the new Marpole Community Centre
Marpole Community Centre — located at Park Drive and Oak Street — has programs for all ages and abilities.
The facility has a gymnasium, fitness centre, dance studios, multi-purpose rooms, and kitchen. There is underground parking, an outdoor performance space, outdoor basketball courts, and an integrated fieldhouse with park washrooms and team rooms.

Functional training and recovery
A versatile selection of equipment to support functional movement, strength, mobility, and recovery, including medicine balls, kettlebells, battle ropes, resistance bands, stability balls, plyometric boxes, athletic steps, stretching platforms and mats, and more.

Note Pay admission or scan your pass card before entering the fitness centre.
This fitness centre is unsupervised. Be cautious while using equipment and the facility.
Immediately report any injury or equipment safety concerns to the on-duty staff.
Appropriate gym apparel must be worn at all times, including a shirt and athletic shoes.
Flip-flops, clogs, slides, cleats, socks, and bare feet are not permitted.
The facility is not responsible for lost or stolen personal items.
Bring your own lock where required.
Use designated lockers, cubbies, and wallet lockers to protect your valuables.
Do not store belongings on the floor, ledges, or near equipment.
Use of personal transportation devices is not allowed inside the facility.
This includes inline skates, scooters, skateboards, and more.
They may only be brought inside if they can be carried and stored in a locker.
Abide by equipment time limits when others are waiting:
Squat racks: 20 minutes
Cardio equipment: 30 minutes
Use fitness equipment for its intended purpose following manufacturer’s guidelines.
Don't modify equipment.
Use controlled movements with safe technique and avoid dropping weights.
If unsure, ask staff for assistance.
Clean equipment after use and return plates, weightlifting bars, dumbbells, and accessories to appropriate racks or shelves.
Share equipment and space:
Allow others to work in between sets.
Do not monopolize equipment while texting, resting, or talking.
Phone calls (including hands-free) must be taken outside of the fitness centre.
Patrons may not bring their own lifting bars, cable attachments, TRX, or gymnastic rings.
Chalk is not permitted.
Permitted items include lifting belts, bands, foam rollers, ankle/wrist weights, rollers, mats, hula hoops, and skipping ropes (where space allows).
Staff reserve the right to limit items brought into the fitness facilities.
Photography and video recording are not permitted in the fitness centre or in any related facilities (for example saunas, whirlpools, steam rooms, and change rooms).
Using personal devices to play audio out loud is not permitted. Headphones must be used.
No outside personal trainers are permitted.
Only VPB Personal Trainers or VPB-registered external rehabilitation specialists may train clients.
If assisting a friend, you must also be working out.
Pets, food, open containers, single-use containers, and glassware are prohibited.
This is a scent-free zone. Please refrain from using perfumes or scented products.
Minimum age to use the fitness centre is 13 years old.

The Marpole Community Centre is jointly operated by the Vancouver Park Board and the Marpole-Oakridge Community Association (MOCA).
With the Park Board, MOCA offers accessible and diverse leisure opportunities to enhance the well-being of individuals and strengthen a sense of community in the Marpole neighbourhood.
