With the exception of 6 courts in Stanley Park, casual tennis play operates on a first-come, first-served basis.
Casual tennis play rules and code of conduct
- To claim a court, 2 to 4 players can stand facing it while waiting.
- Courts are open to players of all ages.
- Wear only rubber-soled, non-marking shoes.
- If other players are waiting, each court session is limited to 30 minutes, including warm-up.
- Player substitutions are allowed, but do not extend the 30-minute time limit.
- Permitted court users can exceed the 30-minute time limit.
- Courts are reserved exclusively for tennis. No other activities, including pickleball, are permitted.
- Observe proper court etiquette. Respect neighbouring games and avoid using offensive language.
- Rollerblading, skateboarding, ball hockey, cycling, and pets are not allowed on the courts at any time.
- Keep the courts free of litter.
