Millennium Line UBC Extension

The proposed Millennium Line UBC Extension (UBCx) would complete rapid transit to UBC by connecting the future Arbutus Station with UBC’s Point Grey Campus.

The UBCx Extension has been included in TransLink’s Transport 2050 , the regional transportation strategy, and their Access for Everyone Plan that lays out their priorities for the next 10 years.

The proposed UBCx would provide greater access between:

  • Centres of innovation like UBC and SFU
  • High-tech and biomedical employment hubs near Vancouver General Hospital, the False Creek Flats, Surrey’s Innovation Boulevard, and many other destinations around the region
  • Residential neighbourhoods across the region that are along the SkyTrain system

The planning phase for the Millennium Line SkyTrain Extension to UBC (UBCx) Program is currently in its early stages. The Province is working with key project partners, consisting of federal, regional, and local governments, First Nations, UBC, and TransLink to collaboratively advance the planning work. The Province and project partners are also exploring opportunities for transit-oriented development that support the delivery of housing and other community amenities along a potential route.

Potential UBCx benefits and highlights outlined on this page are based on previous TransLink analyses and subject to change pending the results of the Province’s analysis.
