| June 2022 – Mayors’ Council 10-Year Priorities endorsed |
The Transport 2050 10-Year Priorities (Access for Everyone Plan) was endorsed by TransLink’s Mayors’ Council and identifies the transportation investments to be prioritized for delivery in the first 10 years of the Transport 2050 plan.
The Millennium Line UBC Extension was identified in 6 to 10 years of the plan, following the beginning of the implementation of the 10 Year Priorities BRT Action Plan.

TransLink’s Mayors’ Council endorsed Transport 2050 plan PDF file (10 MB), a 30-year transportation strategy for the Metro Vancouver region. The plan identified the UBC Extension as a priority project.

| July 2021 – Federal Government of Canada Commits to UBCx business case |
The federal and provincial governments committed to funding 40% each to further advance the UBC Extension Project. |
| May 2021 – TransLink UBCx public engagement results released |
From April 19 to May 14, 2021, TransLink undertook public engagement on the proposed Millennium Line UBC Extension.
The results of this engagement included a statistically significant poll that found that 67% of Metro Vancouver residents are supportive or very supportive of the project. The online public survey showed that 92% of respondents support the project.

| November 2019 – MST-DC, City of Vancouver, UBC Sign MOU |
We signed a historic memorandum or understanding (MOU) with UBC, and the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Development Corporation (MST-DC) to jointly advocatei for federal, provincial, and regional support and funding to extend the SkyTrain to UBC.
This was the first MOU in Canada that brings together an academic institution, a First Nations development corporation, and a municipality to seek investment in major transit infrastructure.

Vancouver endorsed a SkyTrain extension from Arbutus St to UBC.

| Early 2019 – Rail to UBC Rapid Transit Study |
TransLink carried out an updated analysis and revised summary report for the Rail to UBC Rapid Transit Study.
The report reviews background studies and reports conducted to date, including contextual elements since the previous evaluation in 2012. It summarizes land use and demographics within the study area, reviews best practices in rapid transit planning elsewhere, and proposes a simplified method for evaluating rapid transit alternatives.

TransLink approved the 2018-2027 Investment Plan, which funded additional study on a Millennium Line SkyTrain extension to UBC. |
| April 2018 – UBC Board of Governors endorses Rapid Transit Strategy |
UBC’s Board of Governors endorsed a strategy to accelerate completion of a rapid transit connection to the Vancouver campus, including exploration of a financial contribution providing it does not affect the university’s academic mission. |
| Early 2018 – Funding for project delivery of extension to Arbutus |
The Mayors’ Council and the Province reached an agreement on funding for TransLink’s next Investment Plan, including the extension of the Millennium Line – the Broadway Subway. |

TransLink advanced the business case and procurement readiness for the extension of the Millennium Line from Commercial Dr to Arbutus St – the first phase of a rapid transit connection to UBC. |
| 2014 – Mayors’ Council Vision approved |
Mayors’ Council on Regional Transportation released Regional Transportation Investments: A Vision for Metro Vancouver.
The Vision calls for rail-based rapid transit to UBC, with the Broadway Subway Project to Arbutus St to be delivered in the first 10 years. A second phase of rail rapid transit between Arbutus St and UBC was identified to be further studied with the same 10-year period. |

We created the Transportation 2040 Plan and identified a Broadway SkyTrain extension as our top transportation priority. |
| 2012 – UBC Line Rapid Transit Study completed |
Along with TransLink and the Province, we are one of 5 partner agencies who completed the UBC Line Rapid Transit Study. This study updated the results of the Beyond the B-Line Study.
The study assessed several categories including customer service, cost effectiveness, and environmental and community impact.
The study found that an underground SkyTrain from VCC-Clark Station to UBC was the highest performing alternative in every category assessed.

1999 – Beyond the B-Line Study completed

We, along with TransLink and the Province completed the Beyond the B-Line Study.
This study considered Bus Rapid Transit, Light Rail Transit, and SkyTrain technology and determined that a SkyTrain extension to Central Broadway with a rapid bus to UBC was the highest performing option.
