Marshals / Ambassadors

Only Vancouver Police are authorized to control traffic in the City of Vancouver. It is illegal for event marshals to stop or redirect a vehicle. However, event marshals are essential for assisting participants and pedestrians along the route of an event. An event ambassador is required to check the route for stragglers and to advise the Police that the road is clear of participants.
