Motorcycle and Scooter parking
The City of Vancouver currently has created 42 metered spaces for motorcycle parking on various streets in downtown Vancouver. The spaces are located at 1600 Alberni, 1100 Burrard, 500 Cardero,1600 Davie, 1000 Dunsmuir, 400-, 500-, 900- and 1000-blocks of Hornby and 400 Howe. Easypark also provides scooter and motorcycle parking at a reduced rate in several of the City's parking facilities. Visit http://www.easyparkvancouver.com/easyrider.aspx for more information. The new spaces are designated for motorcycles only, with special decals on the meters. The spaces are much smaller than regular automobile spaces (1.5 m wide), and provide short-term motorcycle parking at half the rate of automobile spaces
These spaces are intended to serve the demand for short turn-over on-street motorcycle parking. Many motorcyclists currently park in corner clearances and other “No Stopping” areas, which is illegal and causes traffic safety concerns. Motorcycles (regardless of their size) are bound by the same parking rules as any motor vehicle. They also cannot be left on City sidewalks or boulevards.

Longer-term parking in off-street facilities
Motorcyclists looking for longer-term parking should use the various off-street parking lots within the downtown core. A map showing the locations, and other useful parking information, is available - Downtown Vancouver Off-Street Motorcycle Parking map (
PDF, 882 kb). Many of these off-street facilities offer a reduced rate for motorcycles.
City staff will report back to Council on the results of the trial.
Motorcycle Parking is also available in VanMap
under the Traffic Related layers.
