Scooters In support of the City’s Greenest City initiative to become the greenest city in the world by 2020, we are now making it easier to park environmentally-friendly modes of transportation, such as electric scooters. We have expanded our motorcycle/scooter parking program to include:

To receive the discount rates, you must use Pay-By-Phone; otherwise, you will need to pay the listed meter rate.

Painted parking meter spaces for motorcycles and scooters only

All electric scooters can park for FREE at these spaces, which have green-topped meters, motorcycle parking signs and white painted zones.

Regular parking meter space

A regular parking meter space is a space where any vehicle can park. Motorcycles and scooters can receive a discount off of the listed meter rate if you pay use Pay-By-Phone.

Share the space

There’s a scooter and/or motorcycle already taking up a parking space? If there’s room, you can share it. More than one motorcycle or scooter can share a parking space within the painted lines.If the space is paid by coin, only one vehicle must pay for the spot and the other vehicles can share the same spot for free. Please note: If a meter expires, both vehicles in a space will receive a ticket.

Registered electric scooters and motorcycles are bound by the same parking rules as any motor vehicle and cannot park on:

Non-registered electric scooters are similar to bicycles and cannot park on the street except at parking spaces identified by their green-topped meter.
