Cash or Debit Card (acceptable)
Cheques
All cheques must be written on a bank account in the Province of British Columbia. Counter cheques, personal or company, are unacceptable under all conditions. (Counter cheques are blank cheques with a handwritten or rubber-stamped name and address.) Cheques are not acceptable for payment by rental vehicles.
First Person Personal Cheques
- A cheque in the name and address of the person delivering or presenting the cheque
- Must be pre-printed with the name and address of the person
- Must be supported by a valid driver's license. If the person does not have a driver's license, two pieces of identification including a credit card are acceptable.
Company Cheques
This is a cheque with a company name, address, telephone number and bank account information pre-printed on it. The driver must also produce a valid driver's license for identification purposes.
Credit Cards – Visa, Mastercard, American Express
Corporate Cards
If the company name on the card matches the name on the vehicle, then it is not necessary that the driver’s signature be the same as the signature on the card.
Personal Cards
The card must be used only by the person who has signed the card and be supported by a valid driver’s license.
Rental Vehicles & Temporary Decals
All operators of rental vehicles are required to pay a deposit prior to entry. Deposits are to be cash, debit or credit card only (no personal cheques). A credit card is only acceptable with a valid driver’s license in the same name. Deposit amounts are a maximum of $50 for cars, station wagons, vans, pick-ups and trailers, and $150 for single axle vehicles. The actual amount is at the weighmaster’s discretion and depends on the load. In addition, payment for loads by rental vehicles can only be made by cash, debit card or credit card.
Please note:
- Each load must be paid for when the vehicle exits the scales; i.e. one cheque (or credit card transaction) is required for each load. Uncollected disposal fees may result in suspension of access to the Vancouver Landfill and Vancouver South Transfer Station.
- To pay in person, present transaction ticket and payment at the following locations:

- Or Cheques, payable to the City of Vancouver, may be mailed along with a copy of your transaction ticket to:
