Leaf Removal Programs (October 1st to January 31st)

Between October 1st and January 31st of each year, the City of Vancouver operates two programs for collecting fallen leaves:

Unlimited Leaf Collection Program

Beginning October 1st to January 31st, the City collects unlimited quantities of leaves from Vancouver homes (every second week) as part of the yard trimmings collection program.

Leaf Removal From City Streets

leaf removalCity crews remove leaves from City streets on a regular basis between October and January using a variety of equipment like front-end loaders and street sweepers.

As part of the leaf removal operation, crews will post temporary no parking signs on some City streets. Residents are asked to cooperate and move their vehicles to allow crews to clean the street thoroughly. Typically, crews will post signs to only one side of the street at a time. If your vehicle is not moved off the signed portion of the street, it may be towed (usually around the corner or to the opposite side of the street) to allow crews to clean the street thoroughly. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

To find out when leaf removal crews will be in your neighbourhood, please view the Leaf Removal Schedule (PDF PDF, 2.23 MB, dates subject to change). The following chart shows the most updated schedule for each area.
