Lane improvements
Please note: Under the new 2012 to 2014 Capital Plan, we anticipate City funding for petition towards road, lane and/or sidewalk improvements, including petitions already underway to be unavailable.
Residential lanes
Residential lane - low cost center strip paving
- approx. 3.4 meter wide centerstrip. Width may vary depending on width of lane allowance
- a gravel ramp adjacent the centerstrip in front of garages only
- landscaping and green verge along the shoulder area retained where possible
- environmentally friendly
Environmental residential lane - "Country Lane" treatment
- delineated driving area
- reinforced grass strips
- environmentally friendly
Full width lane paving
Full width lane paving no longer is the City standard. Full width paving may still be available for lanes with mixed zoning such as commercial or multi-dwelling and residential.
Multi-family / commercial lane
Full width lane paving - commercial/mixed residential
- full width pavement
- 130 mm asphalt surface
- valley gutter
- underground tile system where appropriate
