For some people, walking is not a feasible mode of transportation. But, for the majority of Vancouverites it is. If you experience pain or discomfort when you walk, you may just need to prepare better. However, if you have tried everything and walking still hurts, please see your health care professional.

Remember to warm up, stretch, and cool down after each walking session. It is important to choose walking shoes that fit properly and to wear comfortable, visible clothing.

If personal security is a concern for you, try to find places and times to walk that are less threatening and/or walk with a group. These options make you more visible and provide a deterrent to criminal activity.
