Bicycle routes: BC Parkway

Originally a Provincial Government project for Vancouver's Centennial in 1986, this 20 km recreational bikeway and pedestrian route follows residential streets and separate pathways adjacent to the SkyTrain from False Creek in Vancouver, through Burnaby all the way to Westminster Quay on the Fraser River in the City of New Westminster. In Vancouver this route originates at the Ontario Bikeway at 5th and Ontario and crosses the Lakewood, Sunrise and Midtown Bikeways. It passes through the Mount Pleasant, Kensington-Cedar Cottage and Renfrew-Collingwood neighbourhoods before it continues into Burnaby's Central Park.

Estimated travel time by bike in Vancouver is 40 minutes (8.5 km). BC Parkway Upgrade: The City of Vancouver (Greenways), in partnership with Translink, is considering upgrading amenities for pedestrians on the BC Parkway. To find out more, visit the City Greenways page for Parkway.
