Bicycle routes: SW Marine Bikeway

The SW Marine Bikeway is Vancouver's first bikeway with marked bike lanes. It follows the shoulders of South West Marine Drive in the south west corner of the city between Camosun Street in the west and Granville Street in the east. At the east end of the route, signs direct cyclists to either the Cypress Bikeway or to Richmond via the Arthur Laing Bridge. The west end of the route connects with the Midtown Bikeway at Camosun, the wide shoulders of the highway to UBC and to Pacific Spirit Park.

The 5.4 km route takes cyclists through the southern regions of the Marpole, Kerrisdale and Dunbar-Southlands neighbourhoods. Southlands, Vancouver's 'rural' neighbourhood, is easily accessed from the Marine Bikeway. Several golf courses and many of Vancouver's lovely old homes are located along SW Marine Drive.
