Precinct Planning

The City is responsible for integrating stations into the surrounding community to ensure they best serve residents, businesses, and transit passengers. Improvements can be made to the areas surrounding stations — also known as the station precinct — to make stations more accessible to the community and address neighbourhood concerns.

Improvements include pedestrian and bicycle access, passenger pick-up and drop-off, commercial loading and parking, residential parking protection, and local traffic calming measures.

Public Consultation

In 2005 and 2006, the City held open houses to get ideas on neighbourhood improvements for the nine station precincts on the Vancouver portion of the line. Presentation materials are available below.
