Street lights - Did you know there are about 30,000 street lights, 11,000 lane lights and 7,600 decorative lights in Vancouver? The Traffic and Electrical Operations Branch is responsible for providing services to maintain and to add traffic signals, traffic signs and street lighting systems.
Movement of goods - The efficient movement of goods is critical to the economic health of the City. The City is actively working with the Vancouver Police Department, ICBC, the Vancouver Port Corporation, and major employers to improve and/or maintain truck driver, public and worker safety and to ensure by-law compliance.
Tour buses - The City works to maintain a balance between the needs of Vancouver resident and business uses of the streets, including tour buses and goods movement or trucks.
Street signs - Here is your chance to own a piece of Vancouver by buying street name signs from the City. You can choose from a large list of City of Vancouver street names including Robson Street, Water Street, and Beach Avenue.
Street banners - The City of Vancouver Street Banner Program has more than 800 banners installed on Georgia, Burrard and Cambie streets every summer. The City also allows local business associations, non-profit groups, charitable organization and special events organizations to install banners and flags on City streets.
SoundSmart - Although noise is a part of life, there are ways to make it more manageable. Equipped with information and a basic understanding of noise, you can create a lifestyle that works for you. The City of Vancouver has created a three part sound management series for residents concerned about noise.
Clark-Knight Corridor - Clark Drive and Knight Street provide a vital transportation corridor. It’s the most heavily used truck route in Vancouver, carrying between 38,000 and 55,000 vehicles each day.
