We celebrate exceptional achievements in heritage stewardship, showcasing our city's rich living heritage and shared commitment to cultural redress and Reconciliation.
Held every 2 years, the Vancouver Heritage Awards honour efforts to preserve and promote both tangible and intangible heritage assets at the heart of our communities.
They recognize Vancouver’s diverse heritage, including:
- Physical landmarks, historical associations, and cultural traditions
- The self-defined heritage of xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations
- Urban Indigenous Peoples and systemically excluded ethno-cultural communities
