Stanley Park, the city’s first park, has played a big part in Vancouver’s colourful history.
It opened in 1888 when the city's population was only 6,065 and has evolved to become one of the great urban parks of the world. Today, there are more than 230 parks in the city but Stanley Park remains Vancouver’s evergreen heart.
