Stanley Park Seawall safety and accessibility upgrades

What's happeningSeawall closure starting October 19, 2026

The seawall between Lumberman’s Arch and Third Beach will be fully closed until November 7, 2026.

Cyclists and pedestrians can follow detour signs through Beaver Lake.

Intermittent closures may also be in place until November 20, 2026. Follow posted signs.

We’re removing speed gates, also known as maze gates, near:

  • Lumberman's Arch
  • Prospect Point
  • Third Beach

This work will improve accessibility and safety for people of all ages and abilities.

To reduce disruptions to your visit, we're coordinating this work with annual rock scaling and seawall maintenance.
