We recognize that not everyone has access to an off-street parking spot where they can charge an electric vehicle.
In order to support people in this position, homeowners and occupants (with landlord support) can now obtain a licence to charge their vehicle in front of their house using an extension cord.

How it works
The licence requires homeowners to:
- Carry appropriate liability insurance as outlined in the licence agreement
- Agree to indemnify the City
- Agree to the licence agreement PDF file (493 KB)
The cord cover licence costs $5 per year.
If you are a landlord, you may obtain a licence on behalf of a tenant living at your property.

Successful applicants will receive emailed instructions on how to pay for their licence.
